Plans for New Old Homes
The Greene Brothers

Charles Greene and Henry Greene, architects and brothers, were well-known for their Oriental styled “ultimate bungalows” in California.

These homes featured the use of mahogany, ebony, teak and inlays of metal and semi-precious stones. Their most famous work, The Gamble House (below), is found in Pasadena, California.

The Gable House

“No house should ever be on a hill or on anything. It should be of the hill. Belonging to it. Hill and house should live together each the happier for the other.”
—Frank Lloyd Wright
